This internship-simulated course focuses on intermediate Power BI skills for data visualization, enabling students to transform complex datasets into actionable insights. Learn to analyze, interpret, and present data with dynamic dashboards, supporting strategic decision-making and business performance evaluation. 

Data Wrangling & Transformation: Students will be able to effectively clean, transform, and prepare raw data for analysis using Power BI tools. 

Data Modeling & Visualization: Students will be able to create meaningful and insightful data models and visualizations (dashboards, reports) using Power BI features. 

Data Analysis & Interpretation: Students will be able to analyze data trends, identify patterns, and extract meaningful insights from visualized data. 

Business Intelligence Concepts: Students will understand the core principles and applications of Business Intelligence within an organizational context. 

Data-Driven Decision Making: Students will be able to use data-driven insights to inform and support effective business decisions.

Our Facilitator

Dr. Murli Viswanathan

DIRECTOR, IT PROGRAMS

Prof. Murli has a PhD in Computer Science from Monash University and a BS in Computer Science & Information Systems from Deakin University. Prof. Murli worked with Carnegie Mellon University for 16 years before Joining AIAT where he is the Director of IT programs. He lectures students in AI, Machine Learning, Analytics, Big Data, Software Engineering, and other areas. He has managed/coordinated over two dozen student projects with the South Australian Government departments and industry partners. Prof. Murli is a senior member of the Australian Computer Society Accenture Subject Matter Expert in Analytics. He has substantial experience with research projects, course and curriculum design and has delivered a variety of courses at all levels in information systems and computer science since 1996.
